Mariachi Continental de San Diego, San Diego’s premiere mariachi, was founded in 2001 by a group of enthusiastic and passionate musicians with the purpose of sharing our passion and love for the musical tradition of Mexico with the whole world. We play and share our musical tradition with passion, respect and love.
For the last 200 years, Mariachi music and its culture have been part of Mexican celebrations and folklore.
And now today, Mariachi has managed to transcend the borders of Mexico, and has been received with open arms around the world inside and outside of Spanish-speaking countries.
Mariachi is carried in our blood and is linked to our lives from our birth to our deaths. A proud father hugs his son while the Mariachi plays a cheerful song to celebrate the little one’s baptism.
The joy that appears on people’s faces when listening to the cheerful couplets of the mañanitas has no comparison. The celebrated one, surrounded by family, waiting to receive everyone’s hug and thank him for his company.
